Matt’s Place is a program of 88 Live to Ride, a nonprofit begun twenty-two years ago and dedicated to rider safety, family support, and community outreach. We envision this property as a space for local sports, educational programs, family events, and more — all in honor of a young man whose love for racing, the outdoors and giving back continues to inspire us every day.

Matt’s Place is named in memory of Matt Bartosek, a 2002 Northwestern High School graduate who was deeply involved in both athletics and his community. He died while competing at the inaugural ATV Olympics held in Gainesville, FL on January 3, 2003. To us, Matt's Place is more than just property. It’s a community space in the making — a peaceful, 6-acre property in West Springfield, PA. With the help of volunteers, supporters, and friends, it’s being transformed into a welcoming, multi-use gathering place for events, programs, sports, and outreach.  We have hosted a Kid's Fishing Derby for the past three years and each year the number of youth registered has grown - a total of 162 this year!

Our vision is to create a welcoming place where families, groups, and individuals can come together to learn, connect, and socialize.

What Your Donation Supports

Funds raised during Erie Gives 2026 will go directly toward the continued development and renovation of Matt’s Place. That includes:

  1. Building renovations and updates along with meeting key state-mandated building codes
  2. Creating usable space for public events and programs
  3. Preparing the grounds for community gatherings and recreational use.

These improvements are necessary to make Matt’s Place accessible, safe, and welcoming for all.

Help us finish what we’ve begun and create a lasting resource for future generations.
