Alexander Findley Community Library

A nonprofit organization

Hello! We're still finalizing our Big Project idea for Erie Gives 2026. Stay tuned, and we'll let you know what we've come up with!

And now, for a bit of history: The Alexander Findley Community Library (aka the Findley Lake Library) opened in May 2000, in one room of the old Findley Lake Elementary School, now known as the Mina Community Center. Over time, we grew to two rooms, and joined the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System, giving us access to tens of thousands of items in libraries across two counties. In house, we have a large collection of children's, junior, young adult, and adult fiction and non-fiction, as well as several audio books and hundreds of DVDs. We have rotating Large Print collections which get refreshed every three months with new selections. We have a rotating collection of Launchpads, tablets that come preloaded with educational games and no Internet, so parents don't have to worry. We have four patron computers with access to printing, copying, scanning, and faxing, and free Wifi that is available 24 hours a day. We provide programming to people of all ages, including monthly meetings for Arts & Crafts for Grownups, Book Club, and a 1000-Hours Outside Inspired Activity the last Saturday of the month. During Summer Reading we have regular Storytimes, activities, and crafts, as well as StoryWalks on the Nature Trail behind the Community Center.

Our staff of two, volunteers, and trustees are so grateful for the generosity of our community, and thankful for our wonderful patrons. Here's to continued learning and growing together, bookworms!
