Compton's Table

In 1966 at Compton’s Cafeteria, gender-expansive
people responded to the hostility they were subjected to, simply because they
existed, with an act of resistance. 


At Compton's Table, we imagine a region where queer folx are welcomed to show
up as their whole selves. We work to create a thriving queer
community in Northwestern Pennsylvania where queer individuals are seen,
valued, and affirmed.



Compton’s Table uses a community health model to ensure queer and
gender-expansive youth are connected to safe, inclusive, and affirming care. We
partner with professionals across education, healthcare, and mental health
systems to help young people access the support they need to thrive.



At the same time, we’re building the formal and informal systems our community
needs — from clothing access to leadership development — while creating spaces
where queer joy isn’t just possible, it’s celebrated. Because we believe every
young person deserves not just to survive, but to be seen, affirmed, and free.
