$138,000 Goal

Your EUMA ends homelessness in Northwest
Pennsylvania by making it rare, brief and one-time as Jesus would. On August
11th YOU can too by helping us raise $138,000!

Today, because of you, EUMA is ending homelessness for families with children in
Crawford and Erie Counties. Because of you, Veterans, youth aging out of foster
care, and single neighbors are getting the love, care and support they need to
move from homeless to HOME – from hopeless to HOPE in a brighter tomorrow!

Your investment in EUMA ends homelessness not by giving handouts, but by giving our
neighbors in need a hand up. This Erie Gives, know your investment is changing
the trajectory of the lives of:

    • Families with Children | EUMA welcomes homeless families with children to our 34-bed, low barrier, emergency shelter. We welcome all families as they come. Last year we served 75 families and 153 children.
    • Youth Aging Out of Foster Care | When do youth become adults? According to
our foster care system, children “age out” at 18 – they become adults and
are expected to live independently. Nationally, 20% will end up homeless
and that’s not ok. For youth and others,
EUMA has preserved 19 temporary and
permanent housing units where we help them get and keep employment and
       live independently.
    • Families with Children and Single Adults | EUMA operates the largest rapid
rehousing program in Erie County. Housing case workers help our neighbors
FIND permanent and affordable housing and wrap them with the community
supports needed to help them STAY permanently housed. Last year, EUMA housed 219 individuals including 141 adults and 78 children in 143 households.
    • Our Neighbors’ Place | ONP is Erie County's shelter of last resort. This seasonal overflow
shelter is primarily volunteer led and operates between November and
April each year. ONP staff and volunteers provided 328 guests with a
safe, warm and welcoming place out of the cold.
    • Shelter Area Meadville (SAM) | in its second season Shelter Area Meadville was once again modeled after EUMA’s ONP and operates in Meadville to welcome Crawford County unsheltered neighbors a warm place to get in out of the cold, receive food, fellowship and a pathway to permanent housing. Open 84 nights, SAM served 91 adult guests including a 71-year-old man.
    • Rainbow Connection Thrift Store | In addition to selling gently
used clothing, shoes, household items, and furniture EUMA operates a voucher
program that provides these items, free of charge to our neighbors in
       need.
    • Veteran Services | EUMA’s Liberty House is a 10-bed transitional shelter that helps Veteran men experiencing a housing crisis.

Together, we can end homelessness together, one child, one family, one youth aging out of foster care, one Veteran at a time. Join me this Erie Gives and together, end homelessness just
as Jesus would!

Everyone deserves a home, please join us in ending homelessness on August 11th by supporting through eriegives.org!
