Holy Trinity Lutheran Church

An inner-city neighbor is hungry today and in need of clothing.  Today?  Yes, the need is now.  Can you help?

For over 30 years, lower-income neighbors have come to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for help with free food and clothing and other essentials of daily life.   In 2025, volunteers served 8,482 free prepared meals to our neighbors: seniors, many who are alone and some homeless, and families with children (683 of the meals in 2025 were for children).  

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (located at 643 W. 17th Street) is a warm and friendly, multi-cultural, Spirit-led, community-focused family of faith, deeply committed to local outreach.   Dedicated teams of volunteers from Holy Trinity and other local congregations with a heart for inner-city ministry offer Pasta/soup kitchens to neighbors in need at least four times a week.  In addition to the free prepared meals, free take-home food is provided as often as possible, depending on donations.

Also with the help of donations, once a week and at other times as needed, Holy Trinity offers a free clothes closet, which is expanding to include personal hygiene and necessary personal care items.  Please check the Custom Tab (above) to see some specific ways you could be of help, and please check our Facebook page  Holy Trinity Lutheran - Erie  to learn more about our neighborhood ministries.

As a small, multi-cultural community of faith with limited resources, we need the help and contributions of those who share God's call to inner-city mission and ministry.  Over 70% of our total budget is committed to providing a clean, safe, healthy place for neighbors in immediate need of food and clothing and care.  This is our first year with Erie Gives.  With your generous and gracious support, we can continue to identify and respond to the most urgent needs in the community.  Thank you for caring and helping.
