The Center for Hearing & Deaf Services, Inc. (HDS) recognized the need for dedicated services for the Deaf community in Northwest Pennsylvania and answered the call by establishing the HDS-Erie office in 2021.
Our Erie office provides:
- Vital sign language interpreting services throughout Erie County and the surrounding counties.
- A life skills day program for individuals who are Deaf and have intellectual disabilities.
- Community sign language classes and events for the Deaf community.
- Resources and support for businesses, service providers, and both Deaf and hearing community members.
HDS-Erie is the only organization providing these specialized services for the Deaf community throughout Northwest Pennsylvania.
Your donation has a direct impact:
- $50 provides a community outing for participants in our life skills program, promoting inclusion and independence.
- $100 provides a sign language class for a community member.
- $500 provides meaningful social opportunities for the Deaf community.
The more you give during Give Big Erie, the more programs, services, and opportunities HDS-Erie can provide to individuals and families throughout our region.
