At KaleidAScope (KAS), we provide Knowledge, Advocacy, and
Support for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families,
empowering them to live fulfilling, independent lives while becoming valued
members of our community.

 Imagine Katie, a vibrant 27-year-old with autism who
struggled to find her place in a world that often felt overwhelming. When she
first came to KAS, she was hesitant, unsure of how to connect with others or
navigate life after high school. Through our Thursday evening social group,
funded by generous community donations, Katie found a safe space to build
friendships and confidence. Whether it was cheering at an Erie SeaWolves game,
exploring the Erie Art Museum, or laughing together at our annual picnic, these
moments transformed her outlook.

 Today, Katie works at a local coffee shop, proudly
contributing to her community, and credits our social programs for helping her
find her voice and purpose. Since 2005, KAS has been a beacon of hope in Erie,
offering person-centered services like community participation supports, day
programs, employment coaching, and individual, group, and family therapy. Our programs, often supported through Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Adult Autism Wavier and Erie County Department of Human Services, and ID/A programs, focus on maximizing each individual’s potential, fostering independence,
and celebrating their unique talents. Donations from events like Erie Gives ensure these vital programs continue, allowing participants like Katie to
thrive.

 Our impact extends beyond individuals to their families and
the broader Erie community. We offer support groups to guide families through
transitions and challenges. By collaborating with local organizations, we
advocate for inclusion, helping employers and community members see the value
individuals with ASD bring.

services, from weekly social events to innovative initiatives like our planned
podcast, where individuals on the spectrum can share their stories, fostering
understanding and connection. KAS isn’t just a service provider; we’re a family
