About Keystone Family Alliance — York County
When families caring for vulnerable children feel overwhelmed, community makes the difference. Keystone Family Alliance mobilizes volunteers, churches, and local partners across York County to walk alongside foster, kinship, adoptive, and biological families—so children can experience stability, healing, and hope.
Across the foster care system, the challenge is often one of “not enough”—not enough families, not enough support, and not enough community engagement. Keystone Family Alliance exists to help York County move toward “more than enough” by strengthening caregivers and surrounding children with practical care.
What We Do in York County
We serve the community through three complementary efforts:
Care Communities
We help build teams of trained volunteers who provide ongoing, practical support to families—such as meals, transportation, childcare help, household projects, and encouragement—so caregivers are not carrying the load alone.
Gateway Platform
Gateway connects community members with tangible needs submitted by local child welfare caseworkers, including beds, clothing, car seats, and other essentials, allowing neighbors to step in quickly and directly.
Awareness & Recruiting
We raise awareness about foster care needs and support efforts to recruit foster, kinship, adoptive, and respite caregivers through outreach, partnerships, and community events.
Why This Matters
More than 300 children are currently placed in York County foster care, and families often feel isolated in the demanding work of caring for them. About 50% of foster parents stop fostering within their first year—but when families are surrounded by strong support networks, as many as 90% continue into their second year. Moving from “not enough” to “more than enough” changes outcomes for children.
How Your Gift Helps
Your gift helps turn “not enough” into “more than enough” for children and families in York County. Donations provide practical help, surround caregivers with support, and make stability possible for kids who need it most—by equipping volunteers, meeting urgent needs through Gateway, and sustaining local staff who walk alongside families every day.
Together, We Can Do More
With your partnership, Keystone Family Alliance is helping York County become a place of “more than enough”—where children and families have the support they need to thrive.
