Join us Aug 11th 3-5PM for an Open House to celebrate our Erie Gives success and kick off our 25th Anniversary.  Enjoy cake, ice cream and cultural cookies.  Meet some of the new immigrant families we serve.

The House of Mercy Erie is a neighborhood outreach of the Sisters of Mercy.  The House of Mercy provides activities and advocacy for an economically and ethnically diverse neighborhood in east Erie.  The House of Mercy primarily services an immigrant population from Syria, Afghanistan, various African countries, and Bhutan/Nepal that live in low-income housing within walking distance of the House of Mercy.  


Activities include:

Youth:  After school education and enrichment activities, summer program, field trips, and scholarship for participants to attend a Catholic high school

Adults:  Weekly Mothers' Meeting, home visits, assistance with understanding mail and copies, resources/referrals, emergency fund

Garden:  28 raised bed community garden for families to grow their own cultural foods

Seasonal:  Back to school supplies, Thanksgiving food, Christmas gifts, Easter/Eid baskets

Home Improvement Grants in the target area

Eastside Grassroots Coalition - co-sponsor of monthly meetings the third Thursday at 6:00PM at UECDC.
