Tom Ridge Environmental Center Foundation

The Tom Ridge Environmental Center:  Where Science Meets Nature.

Invest in environmental education and the conservation of Presque Isle State Park with your donation to the TREC Foundation.

The Tom Ridge Environmental Center Foundation is dedicated to enhancing environmental education, research, conservation and the visitor experience at the TREC complex and Presque Isle State Park.

In the words of former Governor Tom Ridge, "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children". Through education and awareness, we create meaningful experiences supporting lifelong learning and inspiring stewardship of Presque Isle, Lake Erie, and the Great Lakes region for generations to come.

Since our last Erie Gives Day, we've created new exhibits and hosted countless community events, including:

  • Navigating Peril:  Lake Erie’s Shipwrecks & Beacons exhibit
  • Wetland Wonders of Presque Isle exhibit
  • Fowl Weather Friends: The Ducks of Presque Isle exhibit
  • World Wildlife Day family program
  • Forever Curious Senior festival
  • TREC: After Hours free weekly community program
  • An ongoing series of nature, environmental, and conservation films, paired with filmmaker discussions

Thanks to dedicated supporters, we’ve been able to deliver on our mission for the past 20 years! Every donation makes a difference in how our community interacts with our greatest natural resources: Presque Isle and Lake Erie.
