For more than 50 years, WQLN has been a trusted voice and a steady hand in the Lake Erie region. From educational children's programs to in-depth documentaries, from locally hosted jazz and classical shows to balanced national news — public media here in Erie is something special. And it exists because of people like you.

This is a challenging time for WQLN - the most challenging in our history. Recent federal funding cuts have deeply impacted our operations - we lost 40% of our annual budget - $1.2 million a year.

Every dollar you give stays right here in our region. It powers more than 3,000 hours of original local programming each year. It brings trusted PBS Kids shows into homes, classrooms and after-school centers. It helps us host community events and literacy workshops that connect families with the tools to support learning at home. And it gives voice to stories that wouldn’t otherwise be heard.

And it’s not just about the programs. It’s about what they do. They spark curiosity. They open minds. They give people — of every age — a chance to learn, grow, and be inspired. That’s the power of public media. That’s the heart of WQLN.

We’re proud of what this station has accomplished in one of the smallest media markets in the country. Bigger cities might have more resources, but few can match the heart of this community. Your support has made WQLN a station other cities envy — locally produced shows, national-quality content, and events that bring neighbors together.
