The Association for Needy and Neglected Animals is a 501(c)3 non profit, no kill, open admission animal welfare organization founded by Ruth Thompson in June 2004.
It is our goal to provide unwanted, stray abused or neglected animals with a safe nurturing loving environment where they cane either be reunited with their owners or find new life long loving homes.
We are committed to providing these animals the proper attention and care they need to thrive in our facility and accommodate their individual needs.
Ultimately we work daily to provide as many adoptable animals to find the opportunity to find new homes regardless of space or time restrictions.
Giving each animal a chance - saving one animal at at time.
Programs and Services
The shelter provides services for both animals AND people in the greater Erie area - not allowing county lines to stop our hard work and passion to save animals. Our Humane Police Officers work all day every day and are on call 24/7/365 for animals facing neglect or cruelty situations. Stray animal and owner surrendered animals are welcomed with our open door open admission policy. Our adoption program works to place animals into new life long homes. We also provide affordable quality veterinary care at our four Wellness Centers; as well as professional animal training and grooming services. We offer a Pet Food Bank; Pets For Vets Member; Senior and Therapy Dog Visits; Educational Programs for Schools; & a Trap Neuter Release Program.
