Community Access Media (CAM Erie)
Community Access Media's mission is to facilitate and promote community involvement in the production and broadcasting of media content that benefits our community.
Our mission includes:
• providing a media production facility committed to excellence, diversity, objectivity, service, and equality;
• encouraging citizens of Erie to exercise their First Amendment rights of free speech and expression through media production
CAM is authorized by the City of Erie to administer the public access channel on Spectrum Cable, Channel 1021 and VNET, Channel 2. CAM gives people and organizations the tools they need to get their unique messages across to their intended audiences in the Erie community.
Programs and Services
Media production training classes: HD production studio, HD field camera, video editing, podcasting basics, be a YouTuber, green screen, and social media.
o Access to video production equipment: HD cameras, tripods, microphones, light kits, broadcast studio, podcasting booth, and edit booths.
o Access to air your own TV programs on Channel 1021 and Channel 2.
o Erie Summer festival coverage of Erie’s Blues & Jazz Festival and Celebrate Erie.
o Nonprofit event coverage of the Erie City Mission’s Knockout Homelessness, the Erie Community Foundation’s Erie Gives Day, and the NWPA ALF Labor Day Parade.
o Youth Programs: Erie City Mission’s Urban University program, Non-violence, Anti-racism, and Gardening video camps with House of Mercy.
