Mission

Community Access Television's mission is to facilitate and promote community involvement in the production and cablecasting of television programs and videos that benefit our community.
Our mission includes:
• providing a public access cable TV facility committed to excellence, diversity, objectivity, service, and equality;
• encouraging citizens of Erie to exercise their First Amendment rights of free speech and expression through the medium of cable television and video production

CATV is authorized by the City of Erie to administer the public access channel on Spectrum Cable, Channel 1021. CATV gives people and organizations the tools they need to get their unique messages across to their intended audiences in the Erie community.

Programs and Services

o Video production training classes: Level 1 Studio classes, HD field camera, field lighting, HD editing, and Level 1 mobile production truck classes.
o Access: to video production equipment: HD cameras, tripods, microphones, light kits, studio, and edit booths.
o Access: to air your own TV programs on Channel 1021. Promote local events and nonprofit’s messages.
o Erie Summer festival coverage: of the Erie Art Museum Blues & Jazz Festival and LIVE at Celebrate Erie.
o Nonprofit event coverage: Erie City Mission’s Knockout Homelessness and NWPA ALF Labor Day Parade.
o Youth Programs: Erie City Mission’s Urban University program, Non-violence and Anti-racism camps with the House of Mercy
o Access to the Candidates: Spring and Fall programs
