Compass Reading Center, Inc. seeks to help children with dyslexia or a specific learning disability to succeed by providing high quality Orton-Gillingham based multisensory language instruction to students and by sharing this instructional knowledge with teachers and other degreed professionals to expand our mission exponentially.
Programs and Services
One in five people have dyslexia, a specific learning disability characterized by difficulties with word recognition (fluency) and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. Compass Reading Center was the lead provider for the Pennsylvania Department of Education Dyslexia Teacher Training Program, which trained teachers in seven school districts across the Commonwealth. Compass Reading Center also provides after school tutoring for a number of local children diagnosed with dyslexia or a specific learning disability.
