Disabled American Veterans Chapter 73

Dear Friend and Supporter of Our Veterans,

They stood when we couldn't. They fought when we didn't have to. Now many of them can't stand at all.

Every day in our community, disabled veterans face battles that most of us will never understand. They've sacrificed their bodies, their peace of mind, and sometimes even their ability to perform the simplest daily tasks—all to protect the freedoms we cherish.

Today, I'm writing to ask for your help in honoring these heroes in a meaningful way.

DAV Chapter 73 of Erie is partnering with the Erie Otters Hockey team for a special "Hometown Heroes" initiative. We're creating custom challenge coins—powerful symbols of military service, achievement, and brotherhood—to present to veterans who attend the Otters game during this season dedicated to honoring their service.

These coins aren't just mementos. For many veterans, especially those with disabilities, they represent recognition of their sacrifice when physical reminders of their service are sometimes painfully evident in their daily lives. They serve as tangible proof that their community sees them, values them, and has not forgotten.

Your donation can make this recognition possible.

The first 1,500 veterans attending the Erie Otters Military Appreciation Night hockey game will receive one of these challenge coins. But we need your support to make it happen. D.A.V Chapter 73 is trying to raise $10,000 for this single project.
