Erie Humane Society

For more than 133 years, the Erie Humane Society has been more than a shelter. We have been a lifeline for animals with nowhere else to turn. Every day, frightened, injured, neglected, and homeless pets arrive at our doors in need of safety, compassion, and hope. As a local, independent, registered 501(c)(3), no-kill shelter, we provide more than temporary care—we provide the opportunity for healing, second chances, and brighter futures.

But that lifeline exists because of you.

The Erie Humane Society is not affiliated with, nor are we a chapter of, any national animal welfare organization, and we receive no funding from them. Every rescue, every lifesaving surgery, every warm bed, nourishing meal, and every happy adoption is made possible by the generosity of our community.

Because of you, a frightened dog learns to trust again. Because of you, an injured kitten receives the medical care it desperately needs. Because of you, neglected and abused animals are given the chance to recover, to heal, and to find the loving families they deserve. Your compassion is woven into every life we save.

OUR MISSION

RESCUE:  To provide temporary shelter, veterinary care, and rehabilitation services for needy, domesticated pets in our community.

REHABILITATE:  To provide emotional and physical rehabilitation services to help prepare pets for their next chapter in life.

REHOME:  To provide responsible adoption services through application, home visits, and offering additional training services & counseling.
