The mission of the Erie Zoo is to nurture an appreciation of the world and provide the community with meaningful educational and recreational experiences that foster a greater sense of awareness, stewardship and conservation of animals and plants.
Programs and Services
With more than 450,000 visitors each year, and 9,000 member families, the Erie Zoo is a treasured community asset. Weekly free time makes the Zoo accessible to all, drawing inclusive audiences from all cultures, backgrounds and neighborhoods. The Zoo's educational programming reaches more than 30,000 individuals of all ages each year. The Erie Zoo is also nationally known for its success in the breeding of highly endangered animals, serving a critically important role in the fight to end extinction.
