Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity
The Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity is changing lives and communities and building hope through simple, decent homeownership in partnership with volunteers and community support.
Programs and Services
GEAHFH has been working in our local community for 32 years and has helped over 70 families change their lives through homeownership. Thousands of volunteers have given of their time, talent and heart to build homes. They come together from all walks of life, ages sixteen to eighty-nine; all of whom want to help improve the current trajectory of a Habitat family’s life. This is truly a community mobilization effort to help others. Habitat for Humanity families must qualify for Habitat housing by meeting 3 primary criteria: have a need for housing; possess the ability to repay a 0% interest long term mortgage and be willing to partner which includes 300 hours of sweat equity, budget budget classes and homeownership preparation classes.
