The purposes of the society are to promote awareness of the history and heritage of the Harborcreek Area and its environs and to encourage the identification, collection and preservation of materials for those purposes.
Programs and Services
The office is staffed and open as scheduled six days a week and also on an as-requested basis. The society is active in the community, participating in activities sponsored by the township, school district and others. It also overseees the care of Gospel Hill Burial Ground - founded in 1827. The Gifford-Blanchfield House, a historic 1830's home, which was donated to the township by the Blanchfield family, was refurbished and made available to HHS as its new home. HHS has and will continue to create historical markers, placing them at points of interest throughout the township. It also encourages various groups to use the facility for meetings they may have.
