Programs and Services
The Humane Society of NWPA is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming homeless pets in our community. We operate under “no-kill” standards; meaning we do not euthanize healthy or treatable animals, even when the shelter is full, reserving euthanasia for terminally ill animals or those considered dangerous to public safety. There is no time-limit for the length of stay a pet has at our shelter. Healthy, adoptable pets remain here until they are adopted. Additionally, there are no restrictions on the age of pets we take in or adopt out. The Humane Society of NWPA is an independent registered 501-c3 nonprofit organization. We have no affiliation with the Humane Society of the USA and receive no government funding.
