Programs and Services
The Mental Health Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania is a drop-in center that offers mental health consumers a safe environment to enjoy a wide range of social and educational activities. The Consumer Recovery Center provides members with two activity rooms, a library, laundry facilities, a shower facility, computer center with internet access, lounge areas, a phone where members can make and receive local calls, and a small cafe.
During the winter months when temperatures are forecast 20 degrees or below, the Consumer Recovery Center doubles as a Warming Center where men, women, and families without adequate shelter can stay for the evening. The Warming Center at MHA provides a light meal, hot beverages, access a warm shower and clean clothes, and above all, the ability to be in a safe and nonjudgmental environment to find respite from the cold.
