Mental Health Association of Northwestern Pennyslvania
The Mental Health Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania (MHA) is an organization founded and operated by people served in the mental health system. Our mission: "The MHA provides a consumer driven environment which supports and promotes recovery for all persons with mental health needs including veterans, residents at Warren State Hospital and persons who are criminal justice involved.
Programs and Services
The MHA operates a Consumer Center/Warming Center which provides the opportunity for adult mental health consumers to interact with peers in social, educational and recreational activities in an environment in which they feel safe and respected. The MHA Consumer/Family Satisfaction Team gathers information in a survey format from adult and child mental health consumers/family members regarding their level of satisfaction with mental health and addiction services in Erie County. The MHA Peer Support Program provides support, advocacy and education to mental health consumers in Erie County. Make It a Home Always is a HUD funded program at MHA. This program provides supportive housing to a minimum of twelve chronic homeless persons.
