Domestic, dating, and stalking violence are grounded in abuses of power and control and reinforced by the use of intimidation and coercion. The mission of Safe Journey is to enhance empowerment, self-direction, and safety and justice for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence by providing free confidential support services and offering awareness and prevention education and information to the public.
Programs and Services
Safe Journey provides direct services, support services, and outreach to victims of domestic violence in rural Erie County. Free confidential services include a 24/7 emergency hotline, individual and group counseling, daily support groups, assistance with PFA orders, accompaniment and transportation for judicial matters, prevention programs for children and teens, after-school programs, and shelter, if needed. We also provide services for the elderly, adult children of family violence, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ community. Our PurpleOne public-awareness campaign offers free training that informs community members how to recognize and respond to domestic violence and how to refer victims to services.
