Revitalizing a neighborhood, empowering its people"- the SSJ Neighborhood Network (SSJNN) responds to the changing needs of the world by partnering with local residents and the broader community to provide growth and neighborhood revitalization.
Programs and Services
SSJNN programs provide for urgent needs such as a weekly soup kitchen. food pantry, case management and service referral for over 1,500. Increased access to healthy foods is provided through a network of eight community gardens and a seasonal Farmers Market that accepts SNAP, WIC and Senior produce vouchers. Individual and small group programs provide tutoring and after-school and summer enrichment for youth.
A work readiness program employs teens through the summer. Both youth and adults participate in an earn a bike program.
Physical revitalization efforts include neighborhood clean-up and blight removal, public art, security cameras, home renovation and facade improvements. The Genesis housing program provides affordable housing.
