The Woman's Club of Erie, Inc.
The mission of the Woman's Club of Erie shall be the promotion of the members' active participation in the educational, civic and philanthropic objectives of our community through greater awareness of the needs of the Erie area and the historic preservation of The Woman's Club House.
Programs and Services
As a strong proponent of education, donations of school supplies and books are provided to local elementary schools and two scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students attending local area colleges/universities. A yearly speaker series, open to the community at no charge, features local individuals and organizations whose topics are informative and inspirational. Historic preservation of Erie's buildings are important to the members as much as their commitment to their 127-year-old Club House, the former Winifred and Davenport Galbraith Mansion. Purchased in 1921, the former home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an "Outstanding Victorian Romanesque Mansion."
