When is the registration deadline?

Organizations must register for Erie Gives by Friday, July 27, 2018 in order to participate.
If you would like your organization listed in the August issue of the Lake Erie Lifestyle magazine, you need to register by Friday, June 29, 2018.

When will I know how much my organization receives?

Preliminary results are posted instintatniously. As soon as a donation is made you can see the nonprofits total donation recieved increase. The final numbers with the prorated match increased will be avaliable after Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

When will I receive the donations?

Organizations will be able to pick up with Erie Gives check on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at The Erie Zoo.

Will I know who made a gift to my organization?

All donor contact and gift information received during Erie Gives will be avaliable for download to the respective organizations after the final numbers are calculated and checks are distributed.

The Foundation DOES NOT solicit donors with annual appeals and as such we will not solicit donors using the information acquired during the Erie Gives program.

We will maintain the information to invite all participants the annual meeting, annual report and newsletters.

All donors will receive a gift acknowledgement letter for their tax-deductible gift and each organization is encouraged to send their own personal thank you note to their donors.

Why am I not listed as a participating nonprofit?

A nonprofit must serve Erie county, be a 501(c)(3) and either be a member of The Nonprofit Partnership or have an Agency Endowment with The Erie Community Foundation to participate in Erie Gives. If your organization fits all of the criteria, please register for Erie Gives by the registration deadline.

My nonprofit’s profile information is incorrect. Who can I contact?

How does the prorated match work?

This year’s prorated match is $300,000. We take the total match dollar amount (for 2017 that amount was $315,000) and divide it by the gross donation total (for 2017 that amount was $4,208,959.72). That provides the percentage of the match each donated dollar receives. In 2017, the prorated match percentage was 7.48%. Each individual gift is multiplied by that amount. So, a $100 gift received a match amount of $7.48; $50.00 received $3.74, and $25.00 received $1.87.

Each credit card donation is also multiplied by the 3% credit card fee we will be charged. That amount is netted against the match dollar amount, and added to the gross gift amount.
