Monsignor James Peterson "Power" Scholarship

As one of Gannon College's most beloved faculty members, Fr. Pete had a remarkable ability to connect with students while helping them grow academically, personally, and spiritually. He served for many years as the advisor to the St. Thomas More Club and was known for his unwavering compassion, encouragement, and dedication to those around him.

His commitment to serving others extended far beyond campus. Fr. Pete founded the Maria House Project, a nonprofit organization that provided supportive housing and a path toward healing for men recovering from addiction, overcoming the challenges of incarceration, and experiencing homelessness.

Alan Hannibal '65, '80M will match all gifts made to the Monsignor James Peterson Endowed "Power" Scholarship $1:$1 up to or equal to $20,000. 

The Monsignor James Peterson Endowed "Power" Scholarship provides lasting support for students majoring in the social sciences or theology, as well as students who have overcome significant life challenges, including those recovering from addiction or rebuilding their lives after incarceration.
