Last year, 44 families from Erie County stayed at Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh Morgantown for a total of 1,103 nights, requesting $18,940 in support from the Jacob Johnson Family Lodging Fund and accounting for around 5% of our total 21,059 nights stayed by all families in 2025. 

During the most difficult times in a child's medical journey, the Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh Morgantown has been there to provide families with a comfortable place to stay close to the care they need, and access to pediatric healthcare in their own neighborhood. We know what it means to be a "light in a dark place" and we continue to be responsive to the changing needs of our families.

In recognition that families should never have to worry about how to afford lodging while caring for a sick child, the Jacob Johnson Family Lodging Fund was created. While the cost to operate a room is $95 per night, families are only asked to contribute $20—if they are able. No one is turned away due to their inability to pay. The Jacob Johnson Family Lodging Fund ensures every family receives support with dignity, no questions asked. Families are not required to provide financial information, and from the moment they check in, they are reassured that help is available if and when they need it. Many families find themselves staying longer than expected, and the ability to relieve their financial burden over time becomes essential.

Your generous contribution will help reduce the financial load on families and allow the Charity to direct additional resources toward other critical services like keeping our kitchens fully stocked, laundry rooms operating, providing a nourishing meal every day, and more.
