At HANDS, we often talk about affordable housing in terms of buildings, units, and neighborhoods. But we know affordable housing is all about people.

It's the mother not having to choose between paying rent and buying groceries. It's the senior finally living in a safe, accessible apartment. It's the person experiencing homelessness who now has a secure place to sleep. It's the child who can focus on school because home finally feels stable.

This year, we celebrated major milestones - from the opening of the Emma Howell Apartments to continued investment in family housing and supportive communities across Erie County. Stories of residents rebuilding their lives with dignity, stability, and hope.

HANDS continues to both develop much-needed new affordable housing units, as well as preserve existing affordable housing communities.
