McKean Hose Company

McKean Hose Company was founded in 1941 and relied on volunteers to answer fire and EMS calls for many years.

This year, McKean Hose Company is celebrating 85 years of service! In a given year, the department answers around 500-700 calls; serving the surrounding communities by providing essential services like fire suppression, rescues, and emergency medical support. We are partnered with the Central Erie County Paramedics Association (CECPA) to ensure the area receives Advanced Life Support (ALS) care when needed. To help us answer this many calls, and with volunteerism declining, we have a paid staff on throughout the week to help us answer the call. 

The department also hosts a variety of community-based fundraisers and events throughout each year. These events include: Ice Cream Socials, Open Houses, National Night Out, Pancake Breakfasts, Annual Sportsman’s Raffles, and many more events! We also have an online raffle committee working on raising funds for adequate housing for our staff to relax in during their shifts.
