Help Keep SafeNet a Sanctuary of Safety, Healing, and Hope

For more than five decades, SafeNet has been a place of safety, support, and hope for survivors of domestic violence in Erie County. Some individuals and families come to us needing emergency shelter. Others come for legal advocacy, counseling, safety planning, children’s services, transitional housing, community education, professional training, or support as they take the next step toward safety.

No matter how someone comes to SafeNet, they deserve to be met with dignity, compassion, and care.

Your generous donation helps SafeNet continue providing that care — by supporting both the safe, welcoming spaces people rely on and the essential services that help individuals, families, and our community move toward healing.

A Safe Space Matters — But So Do the Services Around It

SafeNet’s shelter, service areas, and community spaces must remain safe, clean, comfortable, and dignified for the individuals and families who come to us seeking support. Needed repairs and updates help us maintain an environment where survivors, children, staff, volunteers, and community members can feel protected, respected, and cared for.

But the need does not stop with the building.

A safe space matters — but so do the services, staff, supplies, outreach, education, and daily operations that make that space a true sanctuary.

Your gift helps support the places where survivors find safety and the programs that help prevent violence, support healing, and strengthen our community.

Comfort, Connection, and Healing — Meet Poppie

This year, SafeNet is also grateful to welcome Poppie, our emotional support cat.

Poppie came to SafeNet through a survivor’s journey and has quickly become a gentle source of comfort for staff, clients, and individuals who come through our doors. As many people have already seen, Poppie is a truly wonderful cat — calm, sweet, and somehow always in the right place when someone needs a little comfort.

His presence is a reminder that healing can happen in many ways. Sometimes it begins with shelter. Sometimes with advocacy. Sometimes with counseling. Sometimes with community support. And sometimes with the quiet comfort of a safe place, a soft paw, and the feeling that you are not alone.

Your gift helps SafeNet continue creating an environment where survivors, children, families, community members, and even beloved pets can experience safety, support, and hope.

community members, and even beloved pets can experience safety, support, and hope.

Why Your Support Matters

Domestic violence affects individuals, families, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and the entire community. Survivors often face enormous barriers when seeking safety — including fear, financial instability, housing insecurity, legal concerns, transportation challenges, and concern for their children or pets.

SafeNet exists to help remove those barriers.

With your support, survivors are met with compassion, confidentiality, advocacy, and practical help when they need it most. Your gift also helps SafeNet educate the community, strengthen prevention efforts, and create safer pathways for individuals and families before violence escalates.

Make a Gift Today

Your donation helps keep SafeNet’s spaces safe, welcoming, and fully operational while supporting the life-changing services survivors and the Erie community rely on every day.

Every gift matters.
 Every repair matters.
 Every service matters.
Every survivor deserves safety, healing, and hope.

And with Poppie’s help, SafeNet will continue to be a place where comfort, connection, and healing can begin.

Thank you for helping SafeNet remain a sanctuary for all who need us.
