Social isolation is a growing public health concern and a social determinant of health for women and families in Erie, especially the 14.7% of Erie County residents living in poverty. Mothers with added physical, mental, cultural, or language barriers experience even more overwhelm and a lack of healthy relationships, impacting not only their health and well-being but their children’s emotional, developmental, and long-term health outcomes.

Erie City Moms members who consistently attend Moms Night Out or Mentoring Circles report a sense of belonging, lower stress, increased confidence, and access to at least one friend or mentor to contact in times of need. This well-being flows to children and families and transforms our neighborhoods, schools, and economy.

When you donate to this fundraising effort, you specifically provide:

-American Sign Language interpreters for deaf and hard-of-hearing families in our mentoring and Moms groups

-English-as-Second-Language interpreters for non-English-speaking Moms and children in our mentoring and Moms groups

-One new voice-capture translation device called "TimeKettle," boasting 43 Languages and 96 Accents

-Translated marketing to vulnerable Mothers
